Varambon Castle, 18th century castle in Varambon, France.
The castle displays 18th-century architecture with 19th-century modifications, surrounded by a park with two-hundred-year-old Lebanon cedar trees.
The first fortress was built around the year 1000 by Lord Varembon de La Palud and was later destroyed in 1451 by order of Duke Louis of Savoy.
The private chapel, dedicated to Saint Anne in 1444 by Louis de La Palud, contains the tomb of Guigues de La Palud and Aynarde de la Balme.
Visitors can book guided tours of the castle for 8 euros per adult and explore the classified library with its collection of ancient books.
The castle functions as a hotel with five guest rooms offering different views of the Ain valley, Bugey mountains, and gardens.
