Château de Brumare

Château de Brumare is a castle in Brestot featuring two pavilions and a gallery along its south side, with architectural elements spanning from the 17th to the 19th centuries. The interior spaces preserve furnishings and decorative details from different periods.

The castle descended through generations of the Cossé-Brissac family before passing to Emmanuel de Lévis-Mirepoix in the 20th century. He served as mayor of Brestot during the post-war years, overseeing the property during this period.

The ground floor features a salon decorated with Chinese-inspired design from the 18th century. These rooms reflect the artistic tastes that shaped the castle's interior during its time as a private residence.

The castle is currently undergoing renovation work to adapt its spaces for guest accommodations. Visitors planning to visit should check beforehand about access and current conditions.

The facades, roofs, and certain interior rooms received protected status as heritage elements in 1978. This official designation has helped preserve the building's original structure and key features.
