Château de Marsan, Historical castle in Marsan, France

The stone structure of Château de Marsan features tall windows, traditional French architectural elements, and a square tower completed in 1833.

Built in 1750 on the foundations of a 12th-century fortress, the castle underwent substantial transformations during the 18th century following religious conflicts.

The residence belongs to the Montesquiou family, with Aimery de Montesquiou-Fezensac d'Artagnan currently holding the honorary title of Duke.

The castle, located at coordinates 43°39′20″N and 0°43′16″E, received official recognition as a historical monument in August 1991.

The original fortress, known as castrum de Marsano, was destroyed by Count Bernard d'Armagnac and later rebuilt with support from Sainte-Marie d'Auch.
