Château de Vadencourt, Historical castle in Vadencourt, France.
Château de Vadencourt is a castle in Vadencourt, Somme department. The main residential structure has a ground floor and attic under a Mansard roof, with two perpendicular wings containing former stables and kitchen facilities.
The property came under ownership of Henri Pingré de Vraignes around 1680 and subsequently passed to his son-in-law Jean-François de Chassepot de Beaumont. The latter undertook major renovation work in the early 1700s that shaped its current form.
The entrance gate between two round towers creates a striking first impression as visitors arrive. These towers with their conical roofs form a recognizable symbol of the property.
The castle is located northeast of Amiens in the Somme region of northern France. Visitors should be aware that access to certain areas may be restricted due to structural conditions.
A fire in July 2018 completely destroyed the left wing, fundamentally altering the property's appearance. The castle subsequently underwent a change in ownership and management status.
