Château de Crassy, 19th-century château in Divonne-les-Bains, France.

Château de Crassy is a 19th-century castle situated on a large estate that includes formal gardens, greenhouses, an orangery, and a pond. The Boiron river runs through the grounds, with various outbuildings and landscaped areas surrounding the main residence.

The De Prez family from Switzerland founded the castle in the early 1600s and retained ownership for over two centuries. In 1874, it was sold to banker Alfred André, marking a significant change in ownership and stewardship.

The château served as the family seat of the De Prez lineage for generations, shaping life in the region. The rooms and estate operations today still reflect the noble customs that were practiced within these walls.

The grounds extend across a large area and require time to explore all the gardens and outbuildings. The best time to visit is during warmer months when the landscaped areas and greenhouse facilities are in full operation.

General Jean Étienne Philibert de Prez de Crassier was born within the castle in 1733 and became a notable military figure of his era. His birthplace connection highlights the estate's role in French military history.
