The military complex contains concrete bunkers, storage buildings, and a dedicated personnel shelter spread across the wooded area between Morbecque and Wallon-Cappel.

Constructed in 1943 by Nazi Germany as a launch base for V1 missiles targeting London, the site was discovered and bombed by Allied forces before completion.

The base received official recognition as a French historical monument in 2007, preserving the wartime structures for educational and memorial purposes.

The launch base remains partially accessible to visitors, with guided tours available during specific heritage days throughout the year.

Despite its intended purpose as a missile launch facility, this military installation never fired a single V1 rocket due to early Allied detection.
