Amanty Airdrome, Military airfield in Lorraine, France

The airfield extends across agricultural terrain northwest of Amanty village, featuring multiple buildings and aircraft hangars constructed during World War I.

Established in 1917, the airfield served French squadrons initially before becoming a base for American Aero Squadrons through February 1918.

The memorial monument at the former airfield location contains plaques commemorating American military service members and fallen pilots from World War I.

The site returned to agricultural use after 1919, with minimal remaining structures visible except for the memorial marking its military aviation heritage.

The School of Observation Group Corps I trained pilots in aerial observation and photography techniques at this location during wartime operations.
