Château d'Escorpain

The castle features two courtyards, with the main entrance area surrounded by various buildings including a barn, library, dovecote, and guardian pavilions.

Built in the 16th century to replace a noble residence, the castle underwent substantial modifications during the 19th century under the Firmin-Didot family ownership.

The Firmin-Didot family, known for their printing business, contributed to the local heritage by renovating both the castle and the parish church.

The castle grounds extend over 238 hectares, incorporating agricultural lands, orchards, gardens, stables, and numerous outbuildings within its protected perimeter.

The architecture combines Renaissance and Neo-Gothic elements, reflecting multiple construction periods and the evolving tastes of successive owners.
