Château d'Escorpain

Château d'Escorpain is a Renaissance castle organized around two courtyards, with the main entrance area flanked by a barn, library, dovecote, and guardian pavilions. The estate spans approximately 238 hectares, including farmland, orchards, gardens, stables, and multiple outbuildings across its protected grounds.

The castle was built in the 16th century to replace an earlier noble residence, then substantially modified during the 19th century under the Firmin-Didot family. These extensive changes shaped the building into what it is today.

The Firmin-Didot family, known for their printing business, significantly restored the castle and the local parish church. Their work shaped how these places look and function for the community today.
