Viaduc des Coteaux-Beauclair

The Coteaux-Beauclair viaduct is a 580-meter railway bridge carrying Metro Line 11 across Noisy-le-Sec and Rosny-sous-Bois. The structure spans busy highway intersections and sits elevated about 8 meters above ground to safely clear traffic below.

Construction began in 2019 as part of the Metro Line 11 extension, with architect Marc Mimram overseeing the design. Its completion directly linked two previously isolated communities through a new transport corridor.

The viaduct creates a shared public space beneath its arches where people walk and gather daily. This passageway reconnects two neighborhoods that were previously divided by major highways.

The viaduct provides a covered passageway beneath its structure, accessible for daily use and protected from weather. The elevated design allows for free circulation underneath and creates usable areas for pedestrians and cyclists.

The viaduct's metal colonnade and glass elements deliberately echo the classical design of Paris's historic elevated railways. This approach blends modern engineering with local architectural traditions in a understated way.
