Mill River Fun Park, Family amusement park in Mill River, Prince Edward Island, Canada
Mill River Fun Park was a recreation facility in Prince Edward Island that featured water-based attractions spread across its grounds. Visitors could enjoy swimming pools, bumper boats, waterslides, and a ball pit for play.
The park began in the 1980s through private investment backed by federal and provincial funding. Government took over operations in the 1990s, though the facility eventually closed for good in 2017.
Families came here regularly to spend summers together, and the park hosted community celebrations and gatherings. It became woven into how locals thought about warm-weather fun for an entire generation.
The park opened seasonally from July through September when the weather was warmest. Group rates were available, and leashed pets were allowed throughout the grounds.
After closing, the grounds became public walking trails that are now free to explore. The former amusement space transformed into a quiet natural area where people can still visit the land.
