Vilan

Vilan is a mountain in the Rätikon range, rising between the Rhine valley and Taschinas valley in this part of the Alps. The peak stands as a prominent point in the landscape with steep slopes on several sides and views across the surrounding terrain.

This summit has long served as a natural boundary marker between the valleys on either side. Local mountaineers have explored and traveled these slopes for generations as part of their connection to the region.

Local mountaineering traditions include regular expeditions to Vilan's peak, marking seasonal changes in the Grisons mountain calendar.

Marked trails lead to the summit and vary in difficulty depending on which route you choose. Mountain huts along the way offer rest stops and shelter for hikers.

Vilan stands as the 14th highest peak among 69 summits in the Landquart region, with a prominence of 416 meters from its key col.
