Daguan Park, Historic park at Dianchi Lake in Kunming, China
The park extends across 700 acres of landscaped grounds near Dianchi Lake, incorporating traditional Chinese gardens, pavilions, and walking paths throughout the space.
Established in 1368 during the Ming Dynasty, the park gained prominence in 1696 with the construction of Daguan Pavilion under the Kangxi Emperor's reign.
Scholar Sun Ranweng composed a 180-character couplet at Daguan Pavilion, which earned recognition as the 'First Couplets Under Heaven' throughout Chinese literature.
The park welcomes visitors daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with access available through public bus routes 4, 22, 54, 52, and 100.
The Daguan Pavilion displays numerous inscriptions from notable figures since the Qing Dynasty, including works by Emperor Xianfeng and writer Guo Moruo.
