Vápenka is a nature reserve near Krásná Lípa covering about 12 hectares of protected landscape with multiple habitats for local plants and animals. The site is accessed through a network of trails approximately 8 kilometers long that begins at the intersection of the local road connecting Doubice and Krásná Lípa.
The area was designated as a protected reserve in April 1969, marking an important step in preserving the natural heritage of northern Bohemia. This decision was closely linked to safeguarding the valuable habitats and geological features of the region.
The name comes from its limestone mining history, and today the site features educational stations with wooden installations including a xylophone and herb garden. These elements invite visitors to engage directly with nature and understand its different aspects.
