Bear Lake State Park extends along the northern and eastern shores of a 20-mile-long lake, featuring extensive beaches with turquoise blue water.
The establishment of Bear Lake State Park occurred in 1969 when Idaho purchased land through the Recreation and Public Purposes Act.
The park provides recreational opportunities for thousands of visitors who engage in activities like swimming, boating, camping, and water sports throughout the year.
Visitors can access camping facilities in the east unit, with sites accommodating up to 50 people and multiple service levels available.
During winter, the park becomes an ice fishing destination for catching Bonneville cisco, a fish species exclusive to Bear Lake.
