Rexburg Idaho Temple, Modern temple in Rexburg, United States
The Rexburg Idaho Temple is a modern house of worship topped by a 169-foot spire crowned with a golden statue and wrapped in white quartz rock panels. The building contains multiple rooms designed for religious ceremonies and sacred rituals.
The project began with a groundbreaking ceremony on July 30, 2005, and was dedicated on February 10, 2008. Its creation responded to the growing needs of the religious community in eastern Idaho.
The windows and murals display wheat and local wildlife, reflecting the farming heritage that defines eastern Idaho's identity.
The building sits in the downtown area and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors should know that this is an active place of worship where respectful conduct is expected.
During the public open house before the official dedication, more than 200,000 visitors toured the building, a surge so large that extra dates were needed to accommodate everyone. This overwhelming response shows how much the community embraced the new structure.
