Kaw Lake, Reservoir in northern Oklahoma, United States.
Kaw Lake covers 17,000 surface acres across Kay and Osage Counties with 168 miles of shoreline at 1,010 feet above sea level.
The U.S. Congress authorized the dam construction in 1962, leading to the submersion of the original Kaw City in 1975 and project completion in 1976.
The lake hosts winter populations of American Bald Eagles, attracting photographers and nature enthusiasts from December through January each year.
The recreation areas include nine public zones, ten boat ramps, two marinas, and over 300 camping sites with water and electrical connections.
The City of Enid initiated a 70-mile pipeline project in 2020 to transport 10 million gallons of water daily from Kaw Lake.
