Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park

The park spans over 4,300 square kilometers of untouched rainforest, containing 116 mammal species and 1,122 plant varieties within its boundaries.

Established in 1993 by presidential decree, the park expanded in 2023 with the addition of the Djéké Triangle, increasing its protected territory.

Local indigenous communities maintain traditional hunting, fishing, and crafting practices in designated areas near the park boundaries.

Visitors can explore the park through guided walking trails with experienced trackers who ensure safe wildlife observation and forest navigation.

Research stations at Mbeli and Goualougo enable scientists to study three groups of gorillas that accept human presence within ten meters.
