Church of Saint George

The Church of Saint George is a wooden structure built in the baroque style, featuring a central nave that extends from the western choir section to the eastern chancel area. The building displays the traditional three-part layout typical of rural religious architecture from this period.

Construction of this wooden building took place in 1778, replacing an earlier church that had occupied the same location in the village. This period marked a rebuilding phase for religious structures across the region during the baroque era.

The exterior walls were once covered with plaster, but this layer was eventually removed to reveal the original wooden beam framework underneath. This stripping of the plaster coating exposed carpentry details and structural methods that would otherwise have remained hidden from view.
