Tidore Islands

Tidore Islands City spreads across several islands including the main island of Tidore along with Mare, Maitara, and Filonga. The landscape is dominated by Mount Kie Matubu, which rises prominently above the surrounding terrain.

The Portuguese arrived in 1521 and later built a fort after destroying the original capital of this spice-trading sultanate. These events marked a major turning point in the region's political and economic history.
