Alland Cave, Natural monument cave and geological museum in Buchberg mountain, Lower Austria.

Alland Cave extends about 177 meters into Buchberg mountain and features naturally formed stalagmites and stalactites throughout its passages. Visitors can walk through roughly 70 meters of it on guided tours, seeing these delicate stone formations up close.

Scientists found a complete brown bear skeleton in the cave, dating back roughly 10,000 years and showing that large animals once sheltered here. This discovery reveals that the cave has been part of the local landscape and animal life for thousands of years.

Local people call this cave the Women's Cave, drawing from old stories about female spirits said to inhabit its chambers. These tales still shape how visitors and residents view and feel about the place.

The interior stays cool year-round, so visitors should bring a light jacket even on warm days outside. The passages are set up for guided tours with modern lighting to help you see the formations clearly.

New sections of the cave open up each year through natural geological processes, meaning repeated visits can reveal different areas and experiences. This ongoing growth makes each tour potentially a fresh discovery.
