Millennium Tower, Office skyscraper in Brigittenau, Vienna, Austria
The Millennium Tower rises 202 meters with 50 floors of glass and steel construction on the banks of the Danube River at the northeast edge of Vienna.
Construction of the Millennium Tower concluded in 1999, marking the first mixed-use development project in Vienna that combined office spaces with retail areas.
The architectural design by Gustav Peichl, Boris Podrecca, and Rudolf Weber established new standards for modern commercial buildings in Austria's capital city.
The building contains 38,500 square meters of office space, a shopping center, restaurants, and a multiplex cinema, served by nine passenger elevators.
The construction proceeded at an exceptional rate of 2.5 floors per week, demonstrating advanced building techniques in late 1990s European architecture.
