The Porsche Museum Gmünd is an automobile museum in Austria displaying around 40 vehicles from the brand's early history. The collection features early Porsche 356 models, racing cars, and specialized designs spanning different eras.

The site served as the manufacturing location for Porsche's first vehicles between 1944 and 1950 after the company relocated from Stuttgart during World War II. This early production phase established the craftsmanship foundations that influenced all subsequent models.

The collection reflects how Porsche vehicles shaped automotive design thinking across Europe. You can observe how craftsmanship and engineering approaches evolved from the earliest models through later variations.

The museum occupies a building of the Marhof, the former court stables of the Counts of Lodron, near the centre of Gmünd. Exhibits are shown on two floors, reached by stairs, and an archive room screens a documentary film on the company and vehicle history. The entrance is the recessed wooden double door beneath the blue "PORSCHE AUTOMUSEUM HELMUT PFEIFHOFER" sign.

The collection holds Austria's first police Porsche model and an amphibious hunting vehicle from the 1950s. These unusual automobiles demonstrate how diverse Porsche designs were put to use during that era.
