Faaker See, Alpine lake in Carinthia, Austria
Faaker See is an alpine lake in Carinthia situated between forested slopes and meadows. Its clear turquoise water and accessible shoreline make it a natural gathering point for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts throughout the year.
Ancient settlements left traces in the region surrounding the water body. The lake takes its name from the nearby village of Faak within Finkenstein municipality.
The waters of Lake Faak inspired priest Franc Treiber to compose Nmav čez izaro in 1855, which became an essential song for Carinthian Slovenes.
