Murinsel

The Murinsel is a modern steel and glass structure that spans the Mur River, creating an island-like form accessible from both riverbanks via walking bridges. It contains an outdoor amphitheater for film screenings and a café facility inside.

The structure opened in 2003 when Graz was named European Capital of Culture, serving as a symbol of bridging the city's traditional architecture with contemporary design. This project marked a turning point in how the riverside space was used and experienced.
