Café Sperl, Historical coffee house in Mariahilf, Austria.
The interior features red upholstery, brass lamps, marble tables, crystal chandeliers, and a ceiling decorated with white stucco at Gumpendorfer Straße 11.
Jacob Ronacher established the cafe in 1880, and within the first year, the Sperl family acquired it, giving the establishment its current name.
Artists from Vienna's art secessionist movement, including architect Joseph Maria Olbrich and Josef Hoffmann, held regular meetings at the cafe in the 1800s.
The establishment opens daily, offering traditional Viennese coffee, pastries, newspapers, and both indoor seating with billiard tables and outdoor spaces.
Military officials from the Imperial Academy, including General Franz Conrad von Hötzendorf and Archduke Joseph Ferdinand, frequented this cafe before World War I.
