Ochsengartenbahn, Cable car system in Hochötz, Austria

The Ochsengartenbahn is a single-cable gondola system in the Hochötz ski area that carries visitors to different mountain elevations year-round. It provides access to hiking trails and ski slopes spread across multiple levels of the terrain.

The Ochsengartenbahn was built in 1999, reusing the cabins and parts of the equipment of the old Giggijochbahn. In 2016 the lift was renewed again with hardware from a former cable car in the Sölden ski area, replacing the 4-person gondolas with 8-person cabins and raising capacity from 1420 to 2520 people per hour.

The lift is named after Ochsengarten, the Haiming hamlet where its valley station stands at 1507 m. Its 2016 conversion reused the former Giggijochbahn cable car from the Sölden ski area, replacing 4-person cabins with 8-person ones and raising capacity from 1420 to 2520 people per hour.

The base station sits at 1507 m in Ochsengarten, the top station at 2022 m near the Acherkogelbahn mountain station; there is no intermediate stop, so board at the valley station for the full 1707 m ride. The lift runs at 6.0 m/s, taking 310 seconds, and the steepest section reaches a 92.2% gradient.

The 2016 rebuild reused the gondolas and much of the equipment of a lift formerly in the Sölden ski area, replacing 4-person cabins with 8-person ones. This raised capacity from 1420 to 2520 people per hour. The line has no intermediate station and reaches a maximum gradient of 92.2%.
