Frauenstein Castle, Medieval castle in Mining, Austria
The castle stands with three round towers at its corners and features a square bay window structure on the southeastern facade.
The first documentation of Frauenstein dates to June 15, 1195, when Gundachir de Fovnstaine appeared in records of the Counts of Heunburg.
The castle contains a two-story round chapel from 1521 with a star ribbed vault and decorative plasterwork from the early 18th century.
The castle remains closed for renovations until April 2025, after which visitors can explore its grounds and participate in seasonal events.
The hunting room displays historical murals and an ornate ceiling from the 18th century, reflecting the aristocratic lifestyle of past residents.
