Gamskogel is a 2813-meter summit in the Sulztalkamm ridge of the Stubai Alps, east of Längenfeld. It is the local mountain of Längenfeld. Two marked routes lead to the summit cross: from the Burgstein plateau (1452 m) via Plattegg (2110 m), and from Gries im Sulztal via the Nisslalm and Gasse alpine pastures. Both climb many switchbacks over the northeast spur.

The routes around Gamskogel stem from ancient trade paths that linked Tyrolean valleys through high mountain passes in the Stubai Alps. These connections were used by merchants and local people across centuries.

Gamskogel is the Hausberg of Längenfeld, and the summit cross on top is a customary Tyrolean landmark that walkers greet on arrival. The two marked ascents, from Burgstein over the Plattegg or from Gries via the Nisslalm and the Gasse, are maintained alpine paths that lead in many switchbacks up the northeast spur.

The climb from Gries requires solid mountain experience and proper equipment due to steep rock sections and exposed passages. Start early in the day and bring weather-resistant clothing along with safety gear.

The summit area features wire cables and steps integrated into the rock face, creating natural climbing sections that secure the final approach. These rock passages draw experienced mountaineers who appreciate the alpine challenge.
