Schloss Schneeberg, Medieval castle in Trins, Austria
The castle stands on an elevated position next to the Gschnitzbach river, featuring two round towers and a residential building from the 18th century.
First documented in 1297 under Lazarius von Trins, the castle changed ownership multiple times until the Count Sarnthein family acquired it in 1778.
During World War II, the castle served as a storage facility for the Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum's botanical collections and other valuable artifacts.
The castle underwent restoration work in 2014, which included the installation of new roofing on one of its historical towers.
The northern section contains a stable with a rounded doorway from the 16th century, representing original architectural elements from that period.
