Linz State Theatre

Linz State Theatre operates from three separate venues across the city: Musiktheater, Schauspielhaus, and Kammerspiele, each presenting different types of performances. The Musiktheater, which opened in 2013, features modern stage equipment and excellent sound design built specifically for opera and dance.

The theatre traces its origins to 1803 when the Landständisches Theater was built next to the Redoutensäle, establishing permanent theatrical activity in Linz. The opening of the modern Musiktheater venue in 2013 represented a major expansion of the organization's capabilities.

The theatre brings together artists and staff from many nations who create a varied program of operas, plays, and dance performances throughout the year. This international composition shapes the range of works performed for audiences.

The organization partners with the Upper Austrian Opera Studio and Mascarade Opera Studio Florence to develop rising singers and artists through specialized training. These partnerships allow young talent to build skills under professional supervision.
