Red house, Heritage building in Dornbirn, Austria.

The Red House stands at Marktplatz 13 with a distinctive red facade and decorated roof beams displaying traditional architectural elements.

Built in 1639 on the site of a former parish courtyard, this structure prevented the sale of Dornbirn to the Counts of Hohenems in 1655.

The building features four-part window groups and traditional timber construction methods that represent early modern architecture in Vorarlberg region.

Located near St. Martin parish church, the Red House sits in a pedestrian area that provides easy access to the City Museum and galleries.

The red color of the building comes from a protective coating called Ochsenblut, applied according to historical construction techniques.
