Myra Falls, Natural monument waterfall in Muggendorf, Austria
Myra Falls is a waterfall site featuring a limestone gorge with multiple levels and cascading waters. Numerous bridges and walkways lead visitors directly along the flowing streams through the natural formation.
The site was known as a natural wonder for centuries and drew early visitors to the region. Protection measures began in the 1800s to preserve the falls from damage.
The Austrian Tourist Club established hiking trails in 1885, protecting the falls from industrial development and preserving them for future generations.
Access is via marked paths with varying difficulty levels throughout the site. Visitors should wear appropriate footwear since paths become slippery in wet conditions.
Water originates from a limestone massif in the mountains and flows continuously through the gorge. This steady water supply creates a dynamic natural display throughout the year.
