Katzenturm Feldkirch

The Katzenturm is a fortified tower in Feldkirch with eight stories built from solid stone and surrounded by thick defensive walls. The building has a square shape and appears fortress-like due to its tall walls and narrow windows.

The tower was built in 1507 under Emperor Maximilian I and was part of the city's fortification system. It played an important role in defending the town against attacks from outside forces.

The tower stands among other medieval buildings in the old town and shows how important fortifications were for protecting the city. Visitors can see how residents of that time defended themselves against outside threats.
