Walgau barracks is a military installation in Bludesch that spreads across roughly 9 hectares between the A14 motorway and Walgaustraße. The facility includes multiple military buildings, a large kitchen, officer quarters, and a heated hangar for helicopter maintenance.
Construction took place between 1986 and 1989, making it the final newly built military installation in Austria's modern defense infrastructure. The facility became an important element of western Austria's defense structure during that era.
