Villa Pereira, Historical villa in Sankt Andrä-Wördern, Austria
Villa Pereira is a three-story residential manor in Sankt Andrä-Wördern featuring a square floor plan with staggered cubic sections. Corner towers rise above the structure and overlook the Danube wetlands that surround the property.
The manor was constructed between 1846 and 1849 by architects Ludwig Förster and Theophil Hansen for banker Louis von Pereira-Arnstein. It emerged during the period when historicism was shaping Austrian architectural development.
The building displays Byzantine-inspired design features that reflect 19th-century Austrian architectural trends. These influences are visible in the towers and the layered cubic forms throughout the structure.
The property sits at Greifensteinerstraße 158 on elevated ground with views toward the Danube landscape. Its protected monument status ensures the exterior structure remains preserved and clearly visible from outside.
The Pereira-Arnstein family held deep connections to Vienna's cultural scene and played a notable role in 19th-century intellectual circles. The property's former owner descended from women who hosted influential gatherings and championed artists and thinkers.
