Lourdesgrotte, Wienerwald, Religious pilgrimage site in Klosterneuburg, Austria
The Lourdesgrotte features a marble statue of St. Maria Immaculata and a representation of Bernadette Soubirous within its natural rock formation.
The grotto was constructed between 1923 and 1925 under Father Caspar Hutter's direction, with its inauguration ceremony drawing 60,000 participants.
The site includes a Way of the Cross with 15 tabernacle pillars displaying rosary reliefs created by the Bartolotti Art Institute.
The grotto receives 80,000 visitors annually and includes a devotional shop, making it the largest pilgrimage destination in the Vienna Archdiocese.
The wrought iron closing grille of the grotto is an exact reproduction of the original one found at the Lourdes Grotto in France.
