Naturpark Eichenhain

Naturpark Eichenhain is a protected nature reserve in the Vienna Woods featuring beech and oak forests with gentle slopes and varied terrain. The area encompasses multiple communities and displays different forest types and woodland structures.

The park was established as a protected area to preserve the forest landscape and habitats where the Vienna Woods meet the Danube region. This designation arose from efforts to safeguard the ecological systems of the area for long-term conservation.

The park features the Kunstlerweg trail showcasing works by Gugging Artists who create Art Brut pieces displayed along the walking routes. These artists have a strong presence in the area and add a creative dimension to visits.

The park can be accessed from several entry points including the towns of Kierling, Weidling, and near the cemetery in Klosterneuburg. A network of marked trails connects these access points and allows visitors to choose different routes through the woodland.

Within the park lies the Hagenbachklamm gorge featuring steep rock walls and clear mountain streams. This natural formation is less visited than other regional attractions but offers some of the finest creek landscapes in the area.
