Pfarrkirche Königin des Friedens

Pfarrkirche Königin des Friedens is a parish church in the Favoriten district defined by two distinctive tower-like pylons that enclose a forecourt. The building features a spacious interior with chapels and reflects 1930s architectural style.

The foundation stone was laid on November 11, 1934, with consecration following less than a year later. The building rose during a period of significant architectural innovation in Viennese religious construction.

The church embodies ideas from the People's Liturgical Movement, which aimed to bring worshippers closer to the altar action. The open interior layout allows visitors to follow the service directly rather than observe from a distance.

The building can be visited at various times depending on when services occur or it is open for visitors. It is advisable to check in advance when entry is possible, as it remains an active place of worship.

Inside the apse hangs a fresco by artist Albert Ferenz created in the late 1940s that shapes the sacred space. This is complemented by stained glass windows designed by architect Robert Kramreiter that direct light throughout the interior.
