The first known owner of Schloss Feistritz was Jakob de Fustritz around 1460. From 1630 onward all owners are documented in a surviving chronicle, among them the industrialist Wenzel Ludwig Knaur, second father-in-law of the writer Peter Rosegger. Christian Renaud has owned the château since 1987.
