Winterreitschule, Imperial riding hall in Innere Stadt, Austria.
The Winterreitschule features high ceilings, white stone walls, and double-tiered galleries supported by marble columns within the Hofburg Palace complex.
Built between 1729 and 1734 under architect Joseph Emanuel Fischer von Erlach, this hall served as the primary training ground for the imperial horses.
The hall maintains its function as a performance venue where riders demonstrate classical equestrian techniques passed down through generations of trainers.
Visitors can attend scheduled performances throughout the year, with guided tours available in multiple languages from Monday through Saturday.
The riding hall contains 46 chandeliers that illuminate the white stone arena where horses perform intricate movements to classical music.
