Sender Himmelhof, Communication tower in Ober Sankt Veit, Austria

Sender Himmelhof is a broadcast transmission site of the Österreichische Rundfunksender GmbH on the Himmelhof, a viewing meadow in western Vienna. Its antenna carrier is a free-standing concrete tower. From here, several western districts of Vienna and the Lower Austrian municipality of Purkersdorf are supplied, which the Kahlenberg transmitter cannot reach because of the terrain.

The facility was established to bring broadcast signals to western Vienna, where the Kahlenberg mountain could not provide adequate coverage. This enabled reliable radio reception for the first time in Ober Sankt Veit and surrounding neighborhoods.

The site is run by Österreichische Rundfunksender GmbH and serves the western districts of Vienna plus Purkersdorf in Lower Austria, which the Kahlenberg transmitter cannot reach because of the terrain. The concrete tower stands on the Himmelhof, a viewing meadow in the west of the city.
