Kurhaus Thalhof, Reichenau an der Rax

The Thalhof stands at the end of a valley, positioned on the slopes of the Rax mountain range, encircled by extensive meadows and dense forests.

First documented in 1652 as a country estate, Thalhof expanded into a grand hotel by 1890, hosting Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth during their hunting trips.

The property became a meeting point for Viennese society, with Sigmund Freud writing 'The Interpretation of Dreams' and Arthur Schnitzler creating literary works here.

The renovated building now functions as an apartment house, offering accommodations priced between 160 and 280 euros per night for two persons.

The management maintains the historical structure while incorporating design elements from the Wiener Werkstätte movement in the interior spaces.
