Villa Epstein

Villa Epstein is a residential building in Baden constructed with symmetrical elements and decorative iron railings. The structure sits at the edge of Vienna Woods and integrates the architecture with the surrounding landscape.

Architect Otto Wagner designed the building in the late 19th century as a summer house. Later, artist Ernst Fuchs used the property as a studio and exhibition space.

The villa displays Art Nouveau features with ornamental details visible on the facades and railings. These design choices shape the impression visitors get when viewing the building and reflect the artistic preferences of that era.

The building can be viewed from the outside year-round and displays technical innovations in material use. The garden and natural setting allow for a comfortable visit in any season.

An Orangerie wing with large glass windows exists on the property and was converted in 1895 into a game and pool room for the Wagner family. This adaptation shows how the original concept of the house evolved over time.
