Pfarrkirche Mariae Himmelfahrt Bad Hofgastein

The three-nave church extends 46 meters in length and 18 meters in width, featuring four smooth round columns separating the side aisles.

First documented in 1023 under Archbishop Hartwig, the church underwent reconstruction between 1498 and 1507 following multiple fires throughout its history.

The baroque high altar, created by sculptor Paul Mödlhammer and painter Josef Andrä Eisl, displays the Catholic doctrine through representations of the Trinity.

The church maintains regular services and welcomes visitors to experience its architectural features, including star-ribbed vaults and net vaults spanning the nave.

Fritz Dürnberger created frescos in 1925 for the World War I memorial, integrating modern art into the medieval structure.
