Volksgarten

The Volksgarten is a large public park in the Lend district featuring winding pathways and two ponds that reflect the surroundings. A striking steel water wheel and diverse tree species create the character of this green space.

This space was created in 1875 to complement the nearby Stadtpark. A significant expansion took place in the late 1800s when facilities such as a children's playground and ice skating area were added.

The park draws people from all walks of life who come to exercise, relax, or spend time with family in this shared public space. It serves as a gathering place where the rhythm of daily life unfolds across its grounds throughout the year.

The space provides different sports options including a football field and skateboard area for various recreational interests. Visitors can expect good pathways and plenty of open areas for walking or cycling.

A Peace Stupa built in 1998 stands here as one of Austria's earliest examples of this type of structure. Local tradition holds that walking around it clockwise brings positive energy.
