Eibenberg, Mountain summit in Ebensee, Austria
At 1598 meters, Eibenberg presents varied terrain with steep southern slopes toward Offenseetal and mixed forest areas leading to a hunting lodge.
During the Middle Ages, nuns from Traunkirchen monastery managed the mountain area, utilizing yew trees for commercial purposes.
The mountain peak features a surveying pole decorated with a cross, marking the highest point of this Upper Austrian Alpine elevation.
The hiking route begins at the Rindbach parking lot near the shooting range, offering a three-hour trek through marked paths to reach the summit.
From the peak, visitors observe contrasting landscapes: Traunsee lake to the northwest and Offensee lake to the southeast.
