Kath. Pfarrkirche Maria Schutz, church building in Laa an der Thaya, Austria

The Kath. Pfarrkirche Maria Schutz is a neo-Gothic church built in 1869 on the village green of Kottingneusiedl in Laa an der Thaya. Buttresses line the nave and the five-sided choir, and a facade tower is set into the south front with its portal. Inside, the three-bay nave has a barrel vault in the first bay and cross-ribbed vaults in the second and third, with a pointed chancel arch leading to the raised choir.

The neo-Gothic church was built in 1869 on the village green of Kottingneusiedl. The parish itself was only established in 1950, so the building served as a church for decades before gaining parish status. Its furnishings, including the high altar, date from the construction period.

The church is dedicated to Maria Schutz, a Marian title meaning "Mary, Protectress." The high altar is a columned aedicule with an altarpiece of Maria Schutz, flanked by console figures of Saints Catherine and Barbara. The parish itself was only established in 1950, long after the 1869 church was built.

The church stands on the village green (Dorfanger) of Kottingneusiedl, in the municipality of Laa an der Thaya, not in the town centre itself. The south front with the portal and the recessed facade tower is the entrance side; the polygonal sacristy adjoins the east end. The high altar is a columned aedicule holding the altarpiece of Maria Schutz, flanked by console figures of Saints Catherine and Barbara. The organ, built in 1871 by Franz Strommer, has five registers. The church furnishings date from the 1869 construction period.
