Kirche Hörersdorf, Gemeinde Mistelbach

Kirche Hörersdorf is a stone church with a three-story Gothic tower integrated at the southwestern corner of the nave and topped with cross-vaulted ceilings. The surrounding walled cemetery contains Baroque gravestones that include crucifixion depictions from the 18th century.

The Gothic church originated in the 14th century and underwent extensive Baroque modifications around 1700 that transformed its appearance and structure. This transformation reflects the architectural preferences that were widespread during that period.

The main altar features a painting of Saint Oswald with curved frames surrounded by Baroque ornamental details. These artworks reflect the religious devotion expressed throughout the church's interior spaces.

The church grounds are easily accessible and invite a leisurely walk through the residential surroundings. The cemetery area with its stone monuments offers moments for quiet reflection and observation of local burial customs.

The choir features a keystone carved with a relief of the Lamb of God, a rare Gothic motif in this region. Organ builder Franz Reusch created the church organ in the mid 19th century, leaving behind a remarkable instrument.
