Schloss Heiligenkreuz, Gutenbrunn

Schloss Heiligenkreuz is a castle in Gutenbrunn near Herzogenburg that sits along a hillside with two distinctive towers on its northern side. Inside, the building contains multiple halls and chapels that serve as spaces for exhibitions and cultural gatherings.

Construction of the castle began in 1733 after Baron Jakob von Tepsern discovered a statue of Mary that became central to the site. The Figdor family acquired the castle in 1858 and has maintained ownership ever since.

The castle houses art exhibitions in its festival hall and Troger chapel, maintaining a 45-year tradition of summer musical performances.

Natural scientist Baron Reichenbach, a former owner, conducted experiments at the castle until his financial resources were depleted.
