Wildlife park Feldkirch, Wildlife park on Ardetzenberg hill in Feldkirch, Austria
The wildlife park spreads across Ardetzenberg hillside and houses around 170 animals in natural enclosures, including wolves, lynx, and mountain goats. The grounds blend animal habitats with an educational forest trail where information panels help visitors understand the local plant and animal life.
Three animal enthusiasts founded the park in 1963 as a local animal observation project. A mountain goat named Felix was the first resident and became the symbol of the facility.
The park operates a kiosk through Lebenshilfe organization, creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the Vorarlberg region.
The park is accessible via two walking paths: the Weinbergstiege or Himmelstreppe, both offering free entry year-round. Sturdy footwear is recommended since the trails wind up slopes and can be steep in places.
A forest pond called Sautränke sits within the park grounds and serves as a natural habitat for various animals. This water feature demonstrates how natural elements enhance biodiversity throughout the site.
